The Birds

The birds

Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Year: 1963
ActorsRod Taylor, Tippi Herden, and Suzane Pleshette

Narrative:
A rich San Francisco woman finds a boyfriend and then takes him to a small Northern California town that slowly get infected when birds of all and any kinds suddenly begin to attack people there in with more numbers and a sudden increase of rage and power. A external threat comes from nature its as a bird attack Herden the actor who was actually attacked on the face by an bird while filming.

Suspense and thrill:
In the film and the trailer there are many parts of thrill. There is use of fast pace cutting and there are also scenes with a man getting his eyes eaten out by a bird and bird attacking other humans. That seen was so disturbing and I think it created a massive piece of thrill and tension. When the wife arrived home in the begging we noticed that many cups where broken and that her husband wasn’t responding. That created an enigma code. As part of the audience we questioned where he is and what has happened while the wife was not present. We are then showed a scene of her husband dead in the corner with his eyes 'eaten' out. This then creates a creepy and a scary thrill through out the rest of the film. The movie brought the bird’s crisis to the real world as us the audience would know duck down whenever a bird would fly by. At the end of the movie Hitchcock would have the end but instead we had a blank screen. He had done this too provide a thrilling and creepy feel to the movie. It tells the audience that this movie has not ended because the birds have just begun what shall be the end. It is so creepy because the birds always free room so it leave a massive fear because they are every. It’s a good way to end a movie because it leaves that dark, scary and cold air.
